Grace Wooten

Hi! My name is Grace Wooten! I am originally from Topeka, Kansas, but am currently in my senior year at the The University of Kansas. I joined the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications in 2023 to refocus my studies on media arts and production with a minor in psychology.

While I am new to studying and practicing the creative side of marketing, advertising and strategic communications, I have found myself to be more engaged and interested in my studies than ever before. I am eager for new experiences to gain more knowledge and expand my expertise in the field. This website is a place for you to get an understanding of who I am and what I have to offer.

I love being outside and enjoying nature. Cooking is something I have recently begun to enjoy, I really love experimenting in the kitchen and seeing what creations I can come up with. Learning has always been one of my favorite things to do; I have a difficult time only choosing one thing to learn about. This is one of the main reasons I enjoy the world of advertising; I am always learning something new. I have always been fond of art, and occasionally complete at-home artwork in my spare time; I have practiced with a wide range of mediums, though I am most in love with ceramics due to the patience required and the functionality of the final product.

My favorite movie since I was a kid is “Fantastic Mr. Fox.” I absolutely love Wes Anderson’s film style and dry humor. I also have a strong appreciation for stop-motion films and hope to one day have the opportunity to be a part of creating one.

While my music taste consists of pretty much everything ranging from classical music to alternative rock, my most listened to artist has been Tyler, the Creator for years now. While rap is not my favorite genre, his expression and range of emotions in his discography has always stood out to me.

My favorite animals are foxes and cats. I grew up with cats and have been counting down the days to have my own after college. However, I am sure my favorite movie plays a big role in why foxes are up there with cats when it comes to selecting my favorite animal.
